If your riding season does not yet include a trip to southern Spain, the Hot Rally Murcia might be the event that changes that.
Next Thursday, 28 May, the Explanada Barnuevo in Santiago de la Ribera, San Javier, on the shores of the Mar Menor, will once again become one of the most vibrant gathering points for motorcycle culture in Europe. The Hot Rally returns for its 22nd edition — four days of custom bikes, live music, coastal riding, and the kind of warmth that only the Spanish riding community can truly deliver.
Where It Comes From
The Hot Rally was born out of passion. The Murcia Chapter — an independent cultural association founded by owners of Indian Motorcycle and Harley-Davidson — created the event over two decades ago and has been running it with the same community spirit ever since. What began as a local gathering of riders who shared a love of American iron on Spanish roads has grown into one of the most established and internationally recognised motorcycle rallies on the European calendar.
Twenty-two editions. The same coastline. The same spirit. And every year, more riders finding their way to Murcia from across Spain and Europe to be part of it.
The event regularly draws more than 3,000 custom and retro motorcycles, with a strong and consistent presence of Indian Motorcycle riders among them — a tradition that stretches back through the rally’s history and reflects the deep roots the brand has in the Spanish riding community
What Happens There
Set along the beautiful Mar Menor coastline, the rally centre at Explanada Barnuevo features a custom bike show and parade, live rock bands and entertainment every night, market stalls, food vendors, and official merchandise. Group rides and scenic coastal routes run throughout the weekend, and the famous Sunday giant paella and farewell gathering rounds off the event in true Spanish style.
The Hot Rally is open to all riders and all brands — this is not an exclusive gathering but a genuinely inclusive celebration of motorcycle culture in one of Europe’s finest riding regions. The end of May on the Costa Cálida means warm evenings, quiet roads, and the kind of light that makes every ride feel like a postcard.
Why It Belongs on Your Radar
For our European family — particularly those in Spain, France, Portugal, and the wider Mediterranean region — the Hot Rally is one of those events that riders who have been tend to go back to year after year. The combination of location, atmosphere, and community is difficult to replicate anywhere else on the calendar.
For those further afield, including the UK and across Northern Europe, this is one to put in the diary for 2027. The event is free, the roads are spectacular, and the welcome from the Murcia Chapter is genuine.
