There is good news for Indian Motorcycle riders across Yorkshire and the North of England. Teasdale Motorcycles in Thirsk has joined the Indian Motorcycle UK dealer network as an official full-service dealership, bringing sales, servicing, parts, clothing, and technical support to a region that deserves it.
For riders in North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, this is a genuinely welcome addition. Yorkshire has a strong and passionate riding community, spectacular roads on its doorstep, and Indian Motorcycle owners who have had to travel too far for too long to get the support their bikes deserve. That changes now.
A Dealership Worth Knowing
Teasdale Motorcycles is already one of North Yorkshire’s most respected dealerships. Based at 80 Long Street in Thirsk, they are established main dealers for Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, KTM, and Husqvarna, and have built a reputation across the region for doing things properly.
The sales team brings over 60 years of combined experience to the floor — and that shows in how they operate. Every motorcycle leaves the showroom fully serviced to its mileage, with a full 12-month MOT and a complete valet. Used bikes up to ten years old come with a two-year, 5,000-mile Teasdale warranty. Finance options are available through multiple lenders, part exchange valuations are offered fairly and honestly, and a nationwide delivery service means geography is no barrier to buying.
The workshop is equally strong. Teasdale’s service team carries over 50 years of combined experience across servicing, repairs, electrical diagnostics, MOT, tyre fitting, and more. Technicians are trained to Gold standard on KTM and Husqvarna, and are fully qualified on Moto Guzzi and Aprilia. Teasdale is also an official WP Suspension service and repair centre — a level of technical accreditation that speaks for itself. For Indian Motorcycle owners, this is a workshop that knows how to look after a motorcycle properly.

Clothing and accessories are covered too, with brands including Belstaff, Rukka, Richa, Sidi, Shark, and Shoei already stocked alongside franchise apparel from their existing manufacturer partners. Indian Motorcycle clothing, accessories, and parts will be joining the lineup as the dealership gets fully up to speed with the brand.

A Network That is Moving Forward
The arrival of Teasdale Motorcycles in Thirsk is part of a broader picture of growth for Indian Motorcycle in the UK. Since Carolwood LP completed its acquisition of the brand in February 2026, the message from new CEO Mike Kennedy has been consistent — dealers are the most important partners in the business, and strengthening the network is a priority.
The current UK dealer list reflects a brand that has been quietly building its presence. From Bridgwater in Somerset to Perth in Scotland, from Ballymena in Northern Ireland to Dublin in the Republic, there are now dealerships covering many of the country’s major regions. The recent addition of Oakmere Motorcycles in Cheshire further strengthened coverage across the North West, and Teasdale now does the same for Yorkshire.
That is the good news. And it is genuine good news.
Where the Gaps Are
The map tells its own story. Look at the confirmed dealer locations and some clear gaps emerge — not as a criticism of the progress being made, but as an honest picture of where riders are still without local support.
Scotland is perhaps the most striking example. Perth is the only full dealership serving the entire country, with a service centre in Dumfries offering some support to riders in the Borders. That leaves Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, and the Highlands — a vast riding country with a passionate community — well outside a reasonable ride to any dealer. For a nation with roads that are among the finest in Europe, that is a significant gap.
Wales has no Indian Motorcycle presence at all. Not a dealer, not a service centre, nothing. Every rider in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, and across the valleys and countryside has to cross the border into England to find support. Wales has a large and committed riding community, some outstanding motorcycle roads, and genuine demand for the brand. It also suffers from a lack of dealer representation across virtually all manufacturers — but that makes the case for Indian Motorcycle to lead rather than follow. A service hub in South Wales would be a start, and it would be noticed.

The third gap sits across South Yorkshire, the East Midlands, and the Humber coast. With both the Sheffield and Northampton dealers no longer representing the brand, a wide band of England from Sheffield and Rotherham down through Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester, and across to Hull, Grimsby, and Lincoln, is now without cover. This is a densely populated part of the country with a strong riding culture and a lot of Indian owners who currently have nowhere local to go.
Finally, the East Sussex coast — Eastbourne, Bexhill, Hastings — sits at the far edge of the Canterbury and South East London coverage areas. For sales it is manageable, but for owners needing routine servicing it is a long ride. This is exactly the kind of location where an authorised service hub makes more sense than a full dealership — a practical, lower-investment solution that keeps existing owners supported and removes a barrier for prospective buyers.
The good news is that all four of these gaps are fixable. Under Carolwood’s ownership and with a leadership team that has publicly committed to strengthening the dealer network, the direction of travel is right. IMRGlobal will continue to raise these gaps directly with Indian Motorcycle UK and report back to our community when we have answers.

Service Hubs — A Practical Step Forward
Not every gap requires a full dealership. Building a dealership takes investment, commitment, and the right partner — and that cannot be rushed. But there is a practical middle ground that the industry uses elsewhere and that Indian Motorcycle UK would benefit from exploring more actively — authorised service centres.
A network of service hubs in areas like Wales, the North East, Lancashire, and Lincolnshire would not replace a full dealer, but it would give existing owners somewhere local to take their motorcycle and give prospective buyers the confidence to commit. One of the most common reasons a rider hesitates before purchasing a new brand is the question of what happens when the bike needs attention. Remove that concern and you remove a significant barrier to ownership.
Wales is a perfect example. The riding community there is large, enthusiastic, and well connected. Many riders already own Indians. A service centre in Cardiff or Swansea would serve those owners immediately and open the door to many more. It is not a complicated argument — it is simply good business.
IMRGlobal has raised the Wales question directly with Indian Motorcycle UK and will share any response with our community.
The Direction of Travel is Positive
The appointment of Teasdale Motorcycles is the right kind of news. It shows a brand that is actively investing in its UK network at a time when that investment matters most. Under Carolwood’s ownership and with a leadership team that has placed dealer relationships at the heart of its strategy, there is every reason to believe the gaps will continue to narrow.
